MOTO GUZZI HEADQUARTERS, ITALY

Set within the picturesque landscape of Mandello del Lario, Italy, between the Prealps and Lake Como, the historic Moto Guzzi Motorcycles Headquarters has been entirely reimagined and transformed by American architect Greg Lynn. The project reorganizes the original site through an architecture that establishes connections between historic buildings and new structures, manufacturing facilities and spaces open to the public. A museum honoring the brand's history and heritage, a hospitality space, as well as operational areas feature custom interior architecture solutions by UniFor in addition to loose furniture pieces by Molteni&C.

UniFor developed a fully bespoke exhibition design for the Moto Guzzi museum, conceived to translate the brand’s heritage and identity into a cohesive, flexible and contemporary display system. The installation includes platforms and plinths in a variety of shapes and sizes for displaying the motorcycles, as well as showcases, displays and supports for memorabilia, accessories, clothing and scale models. 

The project extends to the hospitality and visitor areas, with UniFor creating a selection of furnishings for the café and merchandising area, as well as the checkout counter and the space dedicated to the Register Historico, Moto Guzzi’s historic register. UniFor’s contribution also touches a number of operational areas, furnished with LessLess tables, drawer units and cabinets designed by Jean Nouvel. In the waiting areas, Paul sofas, designed by Vincent Van Duysen introduce the contribution of Molteni&C, reinforcing the overall coherence of the project. The scheme also encompasses spaces dedicated to photographic archives and the preservation of prototypes, for which UniFor developed bespoke systems

The transformation of Moto Guzzi’s historic headquarters in Mandello del Lario marks the beginning of a new chapter for the brand, founded in 1921 and still deeply rooted in its local context by showcasing interiors by Molteni Group, a leading local and global name in 'Made in Italy' furnishings and architectural solutions.
