Pierre Cartier est arrivé à New York en 1909. On raconte qu’en 1917, il a obtenu le manoir de la 5e Avenue en échange d’un sublime collier de perles. Autrefois résidence privée et aujourd’hui monument emblématique, les intérieurs du manoir, alliant luxe raffiné et atmosphère chaleureuse et accueillante, ont été réimaginés par la designer en architecture Laura Gonzalez. Dans ce projet du Bureau de Thierry W. Despont LTD, Molteni&C a signé une sélection de créations.

To bring back to life the boutique as it probably was when Louis Cartier moved into rue de la Paix in the late 19th Century; to imagine the interiors as he would have done; to rebuild them starting from his original archives; to work using the garlanded tables he so loved. This is the approach which guided architects Sylvain and François Dubuisson in their restoration of the historic Paris boutique. And the result of this careful and delicate operation, finished in December 2005, fully justifies the approach, featuring a curated contribution by Molteni&C.
